Beyond the Black Box lives and breathes through the hard work and dedication of all of our team members. Although all of us come from very different backgrounds- Chanel being from Ohio, Cemiyon from Mississippi, Danielle from Florida, David from New York, and Sierra from New Jersey- we all have a shared experience of oppression within the dance community. BBB’s mission resonates with us on an intrinsic level, pushing us to leave an imprint on the dance community. Together with equal passion and a drive for change we work to create spaces, curate performances and events and help guide the younger generation.
